English Handwriting Competition

Good handwriting is legible, fluent and efficient.

English Handwriting Competition was conducted in our school on 7th June 2024.  “The objective of the competition was to encourage students to improve their Calligraphy skills.

The competition was organised in the respective classes under the guidance of class teachers. It was held among the students from VI to class XII on 07 June 24. Every students was  encouraged to present their  best hand writing.

The handwriting was judged on the basis of Specific criteria like legibility, Grace, flow of writing and clarity. Three best handwriting were selected from each section. All the students participated actively in the competition

Essay Writing and Poster Presentation Competitions

Behind every brilliant performance there are countless hours of Practice and Preparation.
Essay writing and Poster Presentation competitions were organised by Sou Venutai Chavan Polytechnic, Pune; which was held in October 2018. Students of Std X from Sinhgad Spring Dale School,Warje,participated in these competitions.
The topics for the essay writing were:Pros and Cons of Technology,Influence of Social Media on children, Causes and effects of Fast Food Restaurants, Role of youth in Nation Building.Such topics have created general awareness of recent issues among these students. Students of Std.X have been felicitated by the participation certificates.Hence,it was conducted to motivate students to express their creative and innovative ideas through English language.
Poster Presentation Competition was also organised in October,2018,by Sou Venutai Chavan Polytechnic,Pune for the students of std.X.
This competition included topics like Natural Calamities, Organ Donation your Dream Career and Recycling of Plastic, which gave students an opportunity to express their ideas through the medium of colours.All participants from Std.X have been felicitated by the participation certificates.
Students of std.X enjoyed such competitions, they represented our school confidently and enthusiastically.

Annual Gathering

The Annual Gathering of our school was organized on 27th,28th and 29th January 2019.The function began at 5.45 pm on all the three days. The chief guest of the programme was our beloved Founder Secretary of Sinhgad Institute. The Programme started with Welcome Speech followed by felicitation of the chief guest by our Principal Mrs.Smita Sawant Madam.
There were variety of programs like Skits, Classical, Western, Salsa, Hip Hop dances, Tabla Recital etc.
The skits had hilarious comedy which left the audience in splits. The programmes also generated awareness towards our culture, education, discipline etc.
Parents, Students, Principal – Supervisors of other branches were spellbound with all the performances and talent showcased by our children, Tamso Ma Jyotirgamay means

English Dictation Activity

Co-curricular activities help in developing intellectual, emotional, social ,moral and aesthetic levels. CCA provides motivation for learning.
Co-curricular activities (CCA’s) earlier known as Extracurricular activities (ECA) are the components of non-academic curriculum helps to develop various facets of the personality development of the students.
For all round development of the child, there is a need of emotional, physical, spiritual and moral development that is complemented and Supplemented by co-curricular activities.
English Dictation Activity was conduced under CCA on 7th February 2019.All the students of 6th and 7th std participated actively.Class teacher’s Conduced, Corrected and Selected first three from each division. The words were from syllabus and of higher level too.

Flower Decoration

Children are the hidden treasure of various skills co-curricular Activities (CCA) in school life provide an excellent opportunity to find out variety of skills among students.
Under CCA our school organized Flower Decoration Activity for students of Std.VIII on 7th Feb, 2019. Several students actively participated and prepared eye catching flower arrangements, under the guidance of their class teachers creativity of students was emphasized through this activity. To watch beautiful flower decorations was really a treat for our eyes.

Khelo India

Playing sports inculcates team spirit and develops strategic thinking, analytical thinking,leadership skills, goal setting and risk taking.A fit and healthy individual leads to an equally healthy society and strong nation.
Khelo India program has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
The shiv chhatrapati sports complex in Mhalunge Balewadi, Pune hasted the second edition of Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) in January 2019.Students of our school visited the sports complex and witnessed khelo India Youth Games as a live and cheerful audience. It motivated our students to participate in various sports and achieve success.

In the new curriculum framework (2000) work Experience has been termed as work education and thus makes it an integral component of education. As such it would provide both knowledge and skills through well structured and graded programmes which would help them on their entry the world of work.
The students of 10th standard RMD Sinhgad Spring Dale School, warje had a classroom activity on sandwich making. This was a group activity where the children shared the work, learnt how to work in a group and help each other in the right way.
The students also had to write a paragraph about the activity. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and relished their sandwiches too.
Adult Literacy:-
It seeks involvement of students on a mass scale, as also of the schools as committed and supportive systems,in the national cause of eradiction of illiteracy among adults. Participation in Adult literacy programme. Survey to the neighbourhood and identification of adult illiterates (maids of school)
Made door to door visits and persuaded them to join literacy classes. Group the illiterates according to their known capabilities and Interests. Selected literacy material with the guidance and help of the teachers.
Made adequate preparation for teaching including the selection of teaching aids. Taught maids in groups. Evaluated the progress of adult literacy and maintained records.
Acquaintance with fertilizers and pesticides
Acquaintance with common fertilizers and pesticides and their application with appropriate equipments.
Elements of plant nutrition.
Common fertilizers nitrogenous phosphatic.
Concept of biofertilizers,micronutrients,common insecticides, fungicides weedicides.
Calculation of doses,
Plant protection equipment, various types of sprayers and dusters used and maintained P.P equipments.
Informative discussion on fertilizers and pesticides with students.

Students Achievements

Excellence is not being the best, it is doing your best.
In the Academic Year 2018 -19, International General Knowledge Olympiad Examination had been conducted for students of Std.V to IX. External examinations give an opportunity to students who can perform excellent in different subjects like Science, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Computer,etc.
Students between V to IX from a class including all sections appeared for this examination in October,2018. The Top three rank holders are from
1) Std.VI D Advait Apte with Gold medal.
2) Std. VI C Aadya Gandhi with Silver medal.
3) Std. VI C Shiv Hugar with Bronze medal.
4) Std. VII A Srushti Salgar with Gold Medal.
The best performance have been shown by the students of std.VI to VII from Sinhgad Spring Dale School,Warje in the International General knowledge Olympiad examination (IGKO).Hence the School Topper Medal winners have been awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and certificates.
Among many schools in the country our students performed brilliantly and they achieved the rank successfully!

SWACCHATA PAKHWADA

Swacchata Pakawada was organized in RMDSSDS from 1st Sep. to 15th Sep. Different activities based on swacchata abhiyaan were conducted in the school from Std.1 to Std.10.

For 8th Std on 6th September.Water purification activity was conducted in all the sections.

Teachers with students participation explained different methods of water purification.

Following methods were conducted in the classes.
1) Boiling
2) Filtration
3) Steel Water fitter
4) Water purification using Alum.
All the students participated enthusiastically and enjoyed during the activities conducted.
There was CARTOON DRAWING for students based on swacchata abhiyaan, which was also done with great spirit and enthusiasm in all the sections of 8th Std. A professional explained all the steps in detail of purifying water from water purifier (Aqua guard) to the students.

Achievements of Students

Shubhan Brijesh Bapat is one of the 309 participants who has received his Individual Certificate of Genius Book of world record as well as Asia Book of Record. Shubhan is youngest player for under 11 group.He thoroughly enjoyed the event and likes this games very much.He has also participated in inter- club tournaments held within Pune.His coaches Mr. Pramod Kale & Hema Kale are constantly guiding Shubhan on speed test and advance goal skills.Wish Shubhan a very Hearty Congratulation for his terrific achievement,Many More to come.

Dhruvi Nilesh Tidke, Ananya Santosh Rane and Avani Santosh Rane won medals in skating competition and Vaishnavi Bahirat won a medal in Abacus.

Std.X Periodic 1

RMDSSDS, Counsellor Dr.Nasreen Patel conducted session for class x failures in PT-1 Exam.In which she explained and discussed all the points in detail as given below:

3)Time spend for ‘Self Study.’
4) Study Method Reading, Understanding concepts and learning answers.

Group Discussion and T-Shirt Painting

RMDSSDS students (IX Std) participated for Group Discussion and T-Shirt painting competition on 6th Sep ‘ 2018, in DES School, TEJOMAY in Interschool Competition.

In Group Discussion Neha K. of Std.X was a proud participant who got through the prelimnary round amongst 15 schools.

In T-Shirt painting, Shreya Apte from VIII std. secured 3rd position amongst 15 schools.

A GD is a methodology used to provide platform to the students where they can share their ideas and thoughts with others.

Singing Competition

Examples of co curricular activities are Sports, Musical activities, Debate, Art, Drama, Discussion, Story Writing, Essay Writing, Folk songs, Dance, Flower show, Clay Modelling, Toy making etc.

Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan had organised a ‘Group Song Competition’ on Saturday 4th August 2018. The competition was for students of std.5th to 10th having ‘Baal Geet’ as their theme for the day. The song chosen by our children was Gane gare gare pawasa. 13 students had participated in the song.

Teachers exhibited their vocal skills by participating in the competition as well. The Primary and Secondary teachers combination were a huge competition to the other competitors. The theme was Folk Song and the song chosen was Gavalana aali bhali chandrabimba Iyali. Good work Teachers and students.

Drawing Competition

“Every child is an artist”

Keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potentials in the young minds of our students,drawing, colouring competition was conducted on 16th July 2018 at RMDSSDS, Warje.

Students from std VIth to Xth participated in the Competition.Different themes were given according to the stds like My dream,My family, No plastic, stop pollution and Poster On School Discipline.

The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and colouring and care up with amazing artwork.Each of these drawing were completed so beautifully and diligently by the children, it was a treat to the eyes. Selecting the students was a tough task for the judge.

The Criteria for judgement were neatness, creativity, colour combination and overall effect and accuracy in drawing.

This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation.

Drawing is speaking to the eye; talking is painting to the earth.

Poetry Recitation

Poetry Recitation is a mode of expression,a medium to reflect the talents of the young ones.

Poetry can prove to be instrumental stepping stones for young children to learn English. These help them especially in the early stage of learning the language.

At the secondary level,poetry recitation is more helpful to students to know the style language of different poets. It also expresses emotions or deep feelings and aesthetics or a sense of what is beautiful around the world.

Keeping this in view, we in RMD Sinhgad Springdale School, Warje conducted poetry recitation competition on 13th July 2018.Students of VI,VII,VIII,IX and X took part in it.

All the children who participated in this competition came prepared with different theme.

The parameters for judging the children were physical presence, voice and articulation, evidence of understanding, interpretation and overall performance.

In the end, the judges declared the winners of the poetry recitation competition.

Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, characterized by its emphasis on head height kicks, jumping and spinning kicks and fast kicking techniques.

Taekwondo refers to a great tradition of Korean martial arts. In Olympic Games of Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992,it was sport of exhibition but now sport of competition.

Our VI standard students participated in the Taekwondo championship.

RMDSSDS organized the Quiz Competition for Std 8th on 12th February 2018.

RMDSSDS students have made us proud by scoring A and B grade in state level drawing exam (gov. grade exam).Which was held iin Ambegaon on 21st and 22nd Oct,2017.under the able guidance of Madhuri Raje Mam.

Guidance and counselling sessions

Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood.
To solve the problems and doubts of girls from VI to IX the counsellor Dr.Nasreen Patel conducted a session for them.The sessions were held separately for all the classes.
Following were the points discussed in the session :-
1) Menstrual Cycle:- The meaning and cause of it. Personal, Social hygiene, Use of Sanitary napkin and disposing of it etc.
2) Safe and Unsafe touch:- How to recognize a good and bad touch. How to tackle such situations These were discussed. Child helpline number was also given.A movie was shown to make them understand better.
3) Hetero gender attractions and infatuation among school children:- The counsellor explained about these matters, its consequences etc.
The session ended with guidance about study habits,discipline,regular study schedule and its importance. Girls had their doubts cleared and interacted with the counsellor upto their satisfaction.

Essay Competition

Sinhgad Schools were awarded with maximum participation trophy by Hindustan Times.More than 4000 students from our schools shared their ideas on an Essay A WORLD WITH OR WITHOUT SOCIAL MEDIA.
It was an honour to receive the award by Alok Rajwade (Noted National award winning film director and actor from Marathi film Industry) and Rakesh Bapat (Ex Mr.Girasim India winner, noted actor in the Hindi film Industry and also working in Hollywood) Programme was held on 27th Feb, 2018, Tuesday at Nehru Memorial Hall, Camp,Pune.Near SGS Hall.

Std X Activity

The most important aspect of starting Adult Literacy Programme is to support an adult with low literacy rates to increase their self esteem and help them to recognize their lives and skills.
This programme offers free tutoring in basic reading,writing and speaking for adults.Volunteer tutors work with learners to help them reach goals. To achieve this, the programme was organised on 24.1.2018.Students taught a group of adults about ways of communicating with people. The use of Golden words like “Thank you” “Sorry” “Excuse me”. Also the words
“Hello” and “Good Morning”.
It was an enlightening experience for the adults and a sense of pride for the adults and a sense of pride for the students.
Sandwich Making Activity
This activity observed participation on a large scale as all divisions of Std.10th participated.Activity was held with great enthusiasm and fervor.Students brought materials from home.
There was competitive spirit coupled with good group dynamic.Students offered their sandwiches to school authorities and teaching staff.The activity was organised and ended on a great note.

Hindi/Marathi Recitation

Laharo se Darkar Nauka Paar Nahi Hoti, Koshish Karne walo ki Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti.
As we know recitation is an art and can be a lot of fun.Besides helping to build poise and confidence which are always valuable.
In order to instill a love for poetry and to develop recitation skills amongst our students,our school organised HINDI / MARATHI RECITATION COMPETITION on 21st Nov 2017, on the successful completion of 25 years of SINHGADS.
Many children from different classes actively took part in the competition.All the students showed their enthusiasm by participating in large numbers.
During the competition, the students presented their poetic skills which were worthy of appreciation

Sport Day

Sports in our life takes a special place.It provides us with physical health,mental health,emotional health etc.
Sports enhance discipline, develop good relation ,teamwork, empathy, friendship, leadership quality etc.It also develops muscle flexibility and lowers health problems.
RMD hosted the Sports Day for Primary and Secondary children on 14th November 2017.
Different events for different classes like Running race,Kho Kho, Kabaddi,Throwball etc were arranged.
Mrs.Sushmita Baji hosted the show.Mrs.Sumi teacher was the Chief Guest.
Teachers also joined to exhibit their physical ability and sportsmanship by participating in throwball,running race etc.

We had organised football match on account of MAHARASTRA FOOTBALL DAY. Football match started with proper opening ceremony followed by small pooja and a toss.The team which won the toss, played enthusiastically in the school campus,under the proper guidance of our school coach team.

31st Maharashtra State Sub Junior boys Championship 2017 organised by Taekwondo Association of Maharashtra.
Success appropriately reflects the endless hours that has been spent to balance many things in life and secure the goal that has been aimed for.
Aniruddha Ravindra Bandal of std.6th D is one such talented student of our school. Aniruddha won the Gold Medal in under 32 kg weight category in Taekwondo.
The competition was held in JaiSinghpur, Maharashtra.The competition was organised by aekwondo Association of Maharashtra from 16th August to 18th August 2017.
The school as a whole wishes him unlimited success in the future.

Master Jayesh Santosh Bengale. Jayesh is a student of RMD Sinhgad Spring Dale School, since his Mini KG. presently he is studing in Std.IV A.
He started learning Karate from the age of 7. He is pursuing karate coaching thrice a week under the guidance of Mr.Nayan Sir from Shotokan Karate Do Association. He is a blue belt(6 th KYU) holder.He participated in 22 nd WFSCO ASIAN OPEN INVITATIONAL INTERNATIONAL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP and bagged a Gold Medal with 1 st Rank.

Sports day

“Only he who can see the invisible can do the impossible.”
Exercise and sports participation has long been established as an important factor in reducing the risk of many physical problems such as cardiovascular disease and obesity. Apart from physical benefits, sports inspire and help young people get active and participate and have a positive impact in areas such as attendance and behaviour. It can raise self-esteem and give confidence. So sports day is designed to be fun, exciting, challenging and rewarding.
On 14th Feb, 17 our school had organised ‘Annual Sports Day’ wherein students participated and showed their talents. The ground was filled with energy and winning spirit with other students as audience cheering for their fellow friends. The teachers too cheered and motivated the students. The event started by burning the torch which symbolized the good will and harmony.

National Science Day

“Experiment, Fail, Learn, Repeat”
National Science Day is celebrated in India on February 28th each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman on 28th Feb, 1928. For this discovery, Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. This day is being celebrated every year to widely spread a message about the most importance of Science used in the daily life of the people. To display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of Science for human welfare. It is the main Science function of India.
On the occasion of National Science Day celebrated on 28th Feb of every year our students of std 8th and 9th participated in the ‘National Science Day Inter-School Students Competition’ on 25th Feb, 17. The students participated in poetry, drawing and quiz competition. Our school won 2nd prize for the drawing competition and the student who made this possible is Yash Kadke of IX A. He drew an amazing drawing showing the collision of two galaxies. The competition was held at IUCCA. Yash was guided by our art teacher Ms. Madhuri Raje.
Other participants for the competition were- Sanskriti Birje, Renuka Joshi, Varad Dixit, Aryan and Amog from std 8th. A total of 60 schools participated.

A book review is an opinion, summary or scholarly review of an author’s literary work. Book review are considered publicity for a writer. It links a writer directly to an audience of avid book readers who are passionate about literature and eager to spread news of a good book. It tells the audience how great the book is. In the world of promotions, book reviews are a great source to utilize in order to strengthen and bloster your efforts.

On 10th Feb, 2017 our students of std 8th and 9th participated in the book review competition organised by Lokseva e-school, Pashan. A total of 3 groups participated for the competition i.e group 1 9th F, group 2 9th D and group 3 consisting of std 8th students. Our group 1 students of 9th F had presented a book review on ‘Our Moon has blood Clots’ by Rahul Pandita, group 2 i.e 9th D presented a review on ‘A better India A better World’ by Narayan Murthy and group 3 i.e std 8th represented a review on ‘Something happened on the way to Heaven’ by Sudha Murthy.
Out of almost 15 schools and huge number of groups our 9th F students bagged 3rd prize for the competition and were awarded with trophy and certificates. They really performed well and made us proud.

He has stood first in both the categories ie. Original and Optional papers.
He solved 124 sums in 7 mins in Optional paper and 114 sums in 7mins in Original paper.

Taekwondo Achievements

Taekwondo is an ancient Korean martial art. It enhances self esteem by heightening your physical and mental powers. It builds confidence by encouraging you to succeed and to take control of your life. It develops discipline by throughly training your body and mind in the tenets and techniques of Taekwondo. The word means, Tae – to kick or jump, Kwon – fist or hand and Do – the way.
Yet another victory for our Taekwondo champion Kanchi Telang who had participated in ZP, State and District level competitions and made us proud. In the ZP competition she secured 1st position (23rd Aug, 16), in State level competition she secured 2nd position (held between 27th and 29th Sept, 16) and in District level competition she secured 1st position (19th Sept, 16). Well done!

School Olympics

Everyone has the desire to win, but only champions have the desire to prepare’. The School Olympics as the name suggests, is planned to be an interschool sports event organised with a view of providing a platform for all school children to showcase and also be recognized for their sport skills. As many as 7 team sport routines and 14 individuals sport routines had been planned. The objective was to emphasize the significance and value of sport(s) to go hand in hand with education.
The Sakal School Olympics was scheduled between 3rd November to 18th December 2016. Our RMDSSDS tiny tots and secondary students participated with great zeal and brought laurels to our school. The winners are as follows –

Wrestling Achievements

Wrestling is counted amongst the most prestigious and oldest events in the Olympic Games, included in the Olympics in 708 BC. In ancient times, wrestling in India was mainly an exercise to stay physically fit. The wrestlers traditionally use to wear a loincloth, langota. It was also used as a great way of military exercise without any weapons. In India it is also known as dangle and it is the basic form of a wrestling tournament.
Yet another victory for our Phelwan of RMDSSDS… competitive spirit, integrity and will to win has been proved by Sahil Bhalekar of 9th F, all over again when he participated in the School Olympics, Pune 2016 organised by Sakal. The competition was held on 24th and 25th Nov,16 where he secured 3rd rank (90kg). The competition was scheduled in Sayadri School.

Swimming Achievements

Although humans have been swimming for thousands of years, swimming only became a competitive sport in the early 1800s. Today swimming is the 3rd most watched sport in the Olympic Games. On a lighter-side swimming has a lot of benefits in itself
The health benefits of swimming are numerous. It trains the cardiovascular system, is a low impact exercise and a great whole body workout. A swim session relaxes the mind, uplifts the spirit and is also often an occassion for social contacts.
Apart from this, every sport is associated with the spirit of winning as winning builds confidence, winning gains one’s access to rewards and special privileges and increase motivation.
A swimming competition was organised at Tilak Tank, Deccan between 17th to 20th Nov, 16 and once again Bhaskar Ohol from 7th A brought laurels to our school by winning silver and bronze medals. He performed marvellously at the event.

“Chess is an Infinitely complex game, which one can play in infinitely numerous and varied ways.”
A healthy mind and a fit body contribute greatly in shaping the golden future of a child. The child should be made to practice mental exercise in addition to physical exercise as he grows up. Board games such as chess, scrabble or chinese checker greatly aid in developing different areas of brain and engaging in these board games directly contributes towards the sharpening of the brain. For long, chess has been considered as a game played only by intellectuals and individuals with critical thinking abilities. However the fact is that chess can be played by people of age groups and mind sets. Chess is extremely helpful in brain development, particularly when it is played regularly from a very early age. It improves the learning, thinking, analytical power and decision making ability of the child. It also teaches the importance of being disciplined in life. Chess transforms a child into a responsible, disciplined and wise human being.

A Chess Tournament was scheduled on 3rd and 4th Sept, 16 named ‘Steel Life Chess Tournament’ organised by Inamdar Chess Academy where one of our bright student Amit Dhumal of class 6th C participated and bagged 1st prize and was awarded with a trophy. It was a under 12 competition with 210 participants. The competition consisted of 7 rounds and Amit scored 7/7 and won the trophy. Bravo!

Swimming is one of the popular sports and great way to keep fit, stay healthy and have fun. Its an activity which one can continue for lifetime. Some people who enjoy swimming want to take it to a competitive level. This can provide the health benefits of a vigorous workout as well as the fun and thrill of competition. The main strokes used in competitive swimmimg are breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke and butterfly.
A swimming competition was organised by ZP on 1st and 3rd Sept, 16. Bhaskar Ohol of VII A participated in the competition and secured 2nd position in 200 m (3.23.12) and 3rd position in 100 (U-14) (1.32.48) held on 1st and 3rd Sept, 16 respectively. The stroke which he demonstrated was breaststroke.
The competition was held at Deccan Gymkhana Jaltaran Talab, Pune. This is yet another victory for Bhaskar and he proved it again that ‘Quitters don’t swim, Swimmers don’t quit.

Kushti

“Its not whether you get knocked down, its whether you GET UP”
Pehlwani/Kushti is a form of wrestling from the Indian Subcontinent. It was developed in the Mugal Empire by combining native Mullayuddha with the influences from Persian Koshti Pahlavani. The words Pehlwani and Kushti derive from the Persian terms Pahlavani and Koshti respectively.
Kushti is Indian traditional wrestling on soil. It is the oldest sport in India. It traces its origin to a bygone age. The earliest mention of Kushti or also called ‘Dangal’ is in the Mahabharta an epic that traces its origin to 4000 BC. In this epic the warrior Bhima wrestles with the Raksha King Jarasandha.

A student of IX F Sahil Bhalekar believed in himself and went an extra mile when he secured 3rd position (85kg)in ZP Kushti Competition held on 16th September, 16 at Sayadri Kusti Sthal, Warje. Our PT teacher Mr. Raskar sir encouraged and mentored him. Sahil worked hard towards his commitment and competed with intensity to achieve this marvellous goal.

Posters are highly efficient communicational tools and cause a great impact, as they are precise regarding the message and the elements used to convey it. Poster development endeavors have a plethora of benefits. Inventing posters is great for individual, group and brainstroming activities. Some of the compulsary skills included in poster creation are measurement, understanding, ratios, organisation and good eye-hand coordination. Other important aptitudes for effective posters involve the cognitive areas of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. Posters plays an active role in social awareness. A poster speaks for itself and therefore reach a broader audience.
A poster making competition was organised by Muktangan Exploratory Paranjape Vidya Mandir, Kothrud on 22nd August, 16. Isha Panchwagh of std 9th D, Pracheet Padher of std 9th E and Siddharth Altekar of std 9th E participated in the competition and brought laurels to our school. We are proud to specify that Isha Panchwagh secured 1st prize and was gifted with a writing pad, Pracheet Padher stood 2nd and was gifted with colour pens and highlighter whereas Siddharth Altekar received Rs. 50/- and stood 3rd. The topic given to them was ‘Global Warming’. The students were guided by our art teachers Mr. Ghodke Sir and Mrs. Madhuri Raje ma’am.

Yoga Competition

‘Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.’
The true essence of yoga revolves around elevating the life force or ‘Kundalini’ at the base of the spine. It aims to achieve this through a series of physical and mental exercises. At the physical level, the method comprise various yoga postures or ‘asanas’ that aim to keep the body healthy.
The mental techniques include breathing exercises or ‘pranayama and meditation or ‘dhyana’to discipline the mind. The ultimate goal of yoga is however to help the individual to transend the self and attain enlightment. Yoga is not a religion, it is a way of living that aims towards a healthy mind in healthy body’.

An Indo-Nepal International Yoga Competition was organised in Nepal between 30 to 31st July, 16 where one of our student Pracheet Padher of 9th D participated and stood 1st in the competition and was awarded with a gold medal. There were 53 participants and was a under 17 competition. BRAVO!

Taekwondo is a two thousand year old Korean martial art that teaches self-defence, discipline, respect and focus. It translates literally as, ‘the art of Kicking and Punching’ and demands a very high level of physical fitness. What makes it different from other martial arts are its kicks-taekwondo is considered to have the strongest kicks of any martial art in the world.
A Taekwondo Competition was organised between 16th to 19th Aug, 16 at Rajaram Bhiku Pathar Prathmik Vidyalay, Kharadi, it was organised by ZP. Shrushti Velanni of class 6th G participated in the competition and brought laurels to our school. She stood 3rd and won bronze medal and was awarded with a certificate.

Competition plays a role in motivating students to perform and excel and offer a lot more reward than just winning prize. Competition offers a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes also uncover personal aptitude. It also encourage students to adopt innovative technology and develop their ideas and skills.
On 6th August, 2016 Sanskrit Story Telling Competition was scheduled at Sanskriti School where two of our RMD SSDS students participated and bagged 2nd prize. Sakshi Chivate of IX F and Mukta Kadam of VII G showed excellent performance and made us proud. This became possible due to the guidance of our Sanskrit teacher Mrs. Rupali Gore who prepared our students so well.

He secured 2nd position in 100 mts breast group B-U- 12 Boys III with time of 01: 32:79 and was awarded silver medal. He also secured 3rd position in 50 mts breast group B-U-12 Boys III with time 00:43:27 and was awarded bronze medal for the same, at Tilak Tank,Deccan Gymkhana, Pune.
Bhaskar also had participated in 33rd Sub-Junior and 43rd Junior State Amateur Aquatic Association, Mumbai. Here he received Certificate of Participation. The event was held on 3rd June, 2016.

Yoga shows pathway to self realization. It is practical approach to achieving ultimate goal of life. It alleviates man’s sufferings and is a Science of personality development.
Human beings are made up of 3 components – body, mind and soul…corresponding these are 3 needs – health, knowledge and inner peace. Health is physical need, knowledge is our psychological needs and inner peace is spiritual need. When all 3 are present then there is harmony. Yoga gives us relief from countless ailments at physical level, from psychological points of view, yoga sharpens the intellect and aid in concentration, it steadies the emotions and encourages a caring for other. In the realm of spiritual yoga brings awareness and ability to be still. Through meditation inner peace is experienced.
One of our RMDSSDS students, Pracheet Vikas Padher has been practicing yoga and its a routine for him. He has excelled in this arena. On 24th April 2016 he had participated in All India Inter State Invitation Yoga Championship (Under 14) which was held in Panji, Gao. A total of 6 states participated viz Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Camelin Competition

Art involves unstructured activities in which kids can explore with theirimagination whereas crafts involve structured activities with a specific goal in mind.
Camelin (Tora) had organised a competition for kids in which they were asked to show their creativity in the form of drawings and writings using Camelin Tora Colorful Pen’s and few of our budding artists were successful in proving their creative side for which they received goodies from Camelin as a token of appreciation. The competition was held in the month of Feb, 16.

Yoga

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” – The Bhagavad Gita.The ultimate goal of yoga is to help the individual to transcend the self and attain enlightment. As the Bhagvad Gita says, “A person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the self when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires and become absorbed in the self alone”.
Yoga is a way of living whose aim is ‘a healthy mind in a healthy body.’Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being; yoga helps promote a balanced development of all the three. Yoga excercises recharge the body with cosmic energy this facilitates –

  1. Attainment of perfect equilibrium and harmony.
  2. Promotes self-healing.
  3. Removes negative blocks from the mind and toxins from the body.
  4. Helps in focus and concentration, especially important for children.
  5. Reduces stress and tension.
  6. Enhances personal power.
  7. Increases self awareness.

The aspirant feels rejuvenated and energized. Thus yoga bestows upon every aspirant the powers to control body and mind.
On 7th Feb, 2016 a yoga competition was organised by Yogasadhana. Two of our students participated in the competition and secured first class and were awarded with a gold medal. The winners are Tilak Chinchwade of Std VA and Mukesh Chowdhari of Std VIID. They demonstrated various asanas which made them achieve their goal.

Shrusti ‘s a student of footloose Dance Academy.She was honoured on 30th December for her extraordinary performance at the Basic Training Course and in FDAs Rhythm 2015.

“You can best teach character on the playing field, using sports to teach life lessons” Jim Thompson.
Sports help improve both physical and mental strength. Our body remains fit and healthy. The students participating, display their ability through sports. The winner of these games gain confidence and feel proud about themselves. The sport teacher helps and encourages students to participate in the ‘Annual Sports Day’.
Life is also just like a game…sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
Participating in various games and sports develop a feeling of sportsman spirit. In sports, the participating candidate may win or lose. The student learns to accept both victory and defeat with grace.
‘Sound mind in a sound body’ is an unavoidable neccessity for all particularly for a school going boy or girl.
On 29th Jan, 16 ‘Annual Sport Day’ was organised for our secondary students from V to IX. The students participated in activities like running race, relay and kabbadi.
The students took the opportunity of participating with fun and excitement and this certainly helped them develop their values.
The guest for the event were our respected principal madam Mrs. Smita Savant, supervisor’s Mrs. Archana Kadam and Arusha Majali madam. They were felicitated by one of our 9th std students Yash Karambelkar and the sports day was declared open by our respected principal madam.
The event started with the march past by our RSP platoon followed by the torch lightening ceremony. The event was taken care by our PT teachers Jaydeep and Raskar Sir and the anchoring for the same was done by Kashmira Navale our French teacher. The winners of the event will be awarded with certificates.

Swimming Competition

National Astronomy Olympiad

Ameya Palamwar of IV D, a budding star of RMD SSDS has made us proud with his recent achievements. He has excelled in swimming, a competitive sport which helps to develop strength of body and mind. Certificates and medals are a formal way to recognize a persons unique accomplishments and motivate him. Ameya bagged the IIIrd position in the 1st district level Swimathon under 10, 2000 metres, which was organised by Champions Club, held on 2nd and 3rd January 2016.

A swimming competition was organized in collaboration with Champions Aquatic club, Pune District Swimming Association and Political Party Shiv Sena on the birth anniversary of Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thakre held on 23rd and 24th January 2016. Here Ameya won multiple accolades.
